Potter & Company, LLP and PIA Consulting are pleased to announce ACL software training the week of May 7 through 11 in Lexington, Kentucky. The training will be held in the training facility in the office of Potter & Company, LLP (301 East Main Street, Suite 1100) in the National City building. Parking will be provided in the attached garage for all participants. Breakfast items will be furnished each morning; Refreshments will be provided throughout each day.

The price per class is listed below and within the downloadable registration forms above. Please note: IIA and ISACA members will receive a $50 discount (when registering for one class) or a $100 discount (when registering for both classes). Participants who register early (by March 30, 2007) will receive a $25 discount (when registering for one class) or a $50 discount (when registering for both classes).

Introduction to ACL for Windows -- Price: $675 (see discount information above)

Course Hours: 20 (2½ days) - Monday, May 7 through Wednesday, May 9

Course Description: The objective of this interactive "hands-on" course is to acquaint the participant with the primary features of the ACL for Windows software system in order to enable him/her to successfully perform data analysis on various types of data files. The ACL for Windows environment will be discussed including navigation techniques, creating and working with ACL projects (documents) and views, and the function of the overview window. Data access methods will be presented and explained. Real-world exercises will include the use of the primary ACL data analysis commands including: Count, Total, Verify, Classify, Stratify, Statistics, Duplicates, Age, Sort, Summarize, Sample, Join and Export. Graphing, reporting, record filtering, and expression building will also be presented. Please refer to the course outlines (available for download above) for further information.

Intermediate ACL for Windows (Custom Edition) -- Price $675 (see discount information above)

Course Hours: 20 (2½ days) - Wednesday, May 9 through Friday, July 271

Course Description: This interactive "hands-on" course builds upon the material and subject matter presented in the Introduction to ACL for Windows class. Advanced ACL commands and data analysis techniques will be introduced and explained. The advantages of "linking" files through establishing ACL data relations will be addressed through the use of real-world data and group exercises. Participants will learn efficient ways to filter or remove unwanted data from their ACL data files. ACL Group and Script commands will be presented as a means to enhance data analysis efficiency and effectiveness. The course will also cover the use of advanced ACL Functions to simplify and automate various data analysis tasks. This custom edition of the class will also cover various advanced ACL Functions, Data Normalization Techniques, and Building Standard Applications topics normally presented in the Advanced ACL and/or the Using ACL for Fraud Detection training classes. Due to time limitations, no review of basic ACL concepts will be performed. As such, all participants should have successfully completed the Introduction to ACL training class and/or have at least 6 months of ACL experience.
